Prepeat Inkless Printer prints, erases and reprints documents
6 Feb 2010

You should have been into such a situation before – a little mistake in the printed documents caused you to need to reprint them over and over again. And of course this would have wasted lots of paper. In order to save paper, money and the environment, we need printers like the Prepeat Inkless Printers, which do not need ink to print your documents and they allow you to erase the wrongly printed contents and reprint on the same paper.
The Prepeat Printer does not have any ink cartridges inside. It simply uses the same technology used by Facsimile printer, which makes use of special thermal head and plastic sheets to print and erase document. You need the special paper in order to print inklessly with Prepeat Printer. And this special paper allows up to 1,000 times of printing before it wears out.
Although the Prepeat Printer presents a much greener idea of printing but the paper and the printer itself do not come cheap at all. 1,000 sheets of the special paper need you to pay upfront of $3,300 and the printer will cost you $5,517. So, it’s now still too early to use this technology in your office or home. You’ll need to wait for a couple of years for the prices to go down. Watch the clip below on how it works.
