The egg had come before the chicken right? Now, although there was a ‘em first and activated in the case of the latest Blu-ray functionality, Managed Copy Blu-ray will come before the hardware. Less than five months since AACS has been completed, and details were revealed Managed copy and so far we have only seen a demo and not a single product announcement. That does not surprise us, but the AACS LA is apparently just as surprised that all the Blu-ray discs in the late 4th December had not sold any other choice, so that at least one copy must be made, the obligation to label the packaging as this has been postponed until spring next year. We expect that given at least a few products that are known to support Managed Copy CES, and although we seriously doubt it, not a stand-alone Blu-ray will sport this feature anytime soon, we have our hopes are waiting for the PC and software some devices such as Kaleidescape movie jukebox – that we will not be charged in the situation – announced at the Big Show in Las Vegas.
