Samsung today announced a couple of new 3D Fabrizio PAVV PDP TV series, which consists of the 680 – 50-inch (PN50C680G5F) and the 490 – 50-inch (PN50C490B3D). Both PDP TVs provide a vivid resolution on the screen and support DLNA, USB, DviX, Xvid, USB video, photo playback as well as Samsung’s latest energy saving eco-friendly features

 

NEC announced the new 70-inch MultiSync P701 LCD display for digital signage, joining the P401 and P461. The commercial-grade P701 is designed for the rigors of 24/7 applications such as airports, public information, healthcare..etc.

NEC P701 features 1920×1080p Full HD resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 420cd/m2 typical  brightness and 600cd/m2 maximum brightness. It includes the AmbiBright color enhancement technology, enhanced video wall capabilities and built-in expansion slot.

The P701 has a premium-grade panel with additional thermal protection, internal temperature sensors for the most demanding digital signage industry requirements and a sealed panel design, which provides protection against dust, grease and steam in less than optimal environments.

NEC P701 will be available in March 2010 for $11,799. There is also the P701-AVT model with built-in tuner.

Sungale’s Kula TV is powered by a 4.3-inch touch panel display, a pop-up Wi-Fi antenna, and the ability to stream Internet content. The gadget supports for a wide range of audio and video formats and provides a 2GB of internal memory, so you can store your favorite multimedia files on it. Netgear’s PTV1000 Push 2 TV Adapter has passed through the FCC. It’s an adapter that allows your laptop to stream video and audio wirelessly to the TV via WiFi. The device uses the Intel’s Wireless Display technology that requires a Core i3, i5 or i7 processor with integrated GMA HD graphics and Windows 7.

The Netgear’s WiFi video adapter is still unofficial, the docs tell that the device may not be able to play all DVDs and Blu Ray discs. No information on pricing and availability are available at the moment. CES would likely be where you’d get more information about it.

If it’s real, this could be a very convenient gear that eliminates the troublesome wires between your computer and the TV. As long as you have WiFi, you can stream videos on your computers or Internet videos such as YouTube wirelessly to your TV.

Ready for yet another way to watch TV? Sezmi has just gone on the air in Los Angeles, offering its unique blend of premium OTA and internet delivered video to a few limited trial users. $5 a month brings whatever local networks you can pull in, basic IPTV (YouTube, OnNetworks, podcasts) and internet VOD (CinemaNow) access, while throwing an Andrew Jackson on top of that adds "more than 100 cable TV networks," delivered via antenna. According to the L.A. Times that doesn’t include any channels from the Disney or Fox family like ESPN, regional sports networks or premium movie channels, but if those are already stations you’re avoiding, it’s a cheaper option than most cable TV plans. Other than the allure of sticking it to the current distribution model, the 1TB DVR package includes a rather unique UI to aggregate and even seek out new shows for you from those varied sources, while maintaining individual profiles for different users. The three month trial has just the right price — free — so even with little info on how much high definition Sezmi’s network can handle or what areas or channels will be added next, it’s at least worth a look.
