Apple iPod nano 6G gets Touchscreen

Other than updating the iPod shuffle and iPod touch, Apple has also refreshed the iPod nano, The new iPod nano 6G (2010 model) has a design similar to the shuffle, getting a built-in clip and a ultra small form factor. The new sixth gen iPod nano has given up the click wheel control pad and the camera we found on iPod nano 5G, instead it gets a 1.54-inch 240×240 multitouch LCD display, dedicated volume buttons and a sleep/wake button.



The
iPod nano 6G is equipped with an accelerometer sensor and FM radio and supports VoiceOver. It has an icon-based UI that is very similar to that of iOS. It is compatible with Nike +. Available in silver, charcoal, blue, green, yellow, pink and PRODUCT (RED), the 8GB model costs $149 and the 16GB model is priced ta $179.

  • The nerds over at Mobile Geek Inc did a nifty investigative piece revealing more details about Nokia’s mid-level C6-01 candybar.     Garmin Edge 800 Touchscreen GPS Device for Cyclists

    Garmin introduces the new Edge 800 GPS device with touchscreen for cyclists who want accuracy and simplicity when tracking their statistics and location for racing and recreation. The device has a 2.6-inch display with a simple touchscreen interface.

    With high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix that quickly acquires and maintains satellite reception and information directly from GPS satellites, Edge 800 accurately tracks speed, distance, time, GPS position, elevation, calories burned, climb and descent. It also supports the ANT+ technology for wireless sync with compatible third-party power meters as well as Garmin heart rate monitors and speed/cadence sensors. The Edge 800 also includes a barometric altimeter to pinpoint changes in elevation.

    The Edge 800 supports microSD memory card, allowing users to to load TOPO U.S. 24K for highest level of topographic detail and optional City Navigator mapping.     Samsung introduces in Korea the new Nori SHW-A220 touchscreen phone that allows customization. Designed for girls, users can personalize the phone with eight unique characters front plates.

    Candidly speaking, we can’t honestly envision too many of you fine folks running out and purchasing one of Creative’s new ZEN X-Fi2 portable media players given the availability of such robust alternatives. That said, we’d be remiss of our duties if we didn’t point out that the PMP which shocked us at IFA is now on sale directly from Creative. $129.99 buys you an 8GB model, while $179.99 nets you 16GB and $229.99 provides 32GB.
