Toshiba Releases Two New Windows Mobile 6.5 Smartphones

Toshiba has recently introduced two new Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2010. Known as the Toshiba TG02 and K01. Both handsets feature a 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The Toshiba TG02 is a tablet-shaped cell phone that is actually an upgraded version of the previously released TG01. Measuring 9.9 mm thick, the new model features a capacitive screen and a new 3D user interface. Meanwhile, the K01 is a slider handset with a sliding keyboard. Measuring at 12.9 mm, it will also be Toshiba’s first smartphone with an AMOLED screen. Both cell phones will have a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 32GB. LG Arena Max LU9400 smartphone with pictures leaked

It’s another smartphone with some pictures leaked, although they’re blurry. The LG Arena Max LU9400 has attracted some attentions with its leaked pictures over the Internet but LG is still quiet about it.
From how it looks in the leaked picture, the LG Arena Max LU9400 has been emphasized with cute design elements that make it a charmer. It would come with a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.5-inch touchscreen display and sport WiFi, GPS capabilities and powered by the 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
No other further details yet about the specs and the image isn’t clear enough to show what OS it runs. No word on where and when it’ll be launched. The phone shows Cyon logo – LG’s Korean phone brand, which might hint it’d be launched in Korea only.

It looks like Apple is really making a push to control the world’s smartphone market. Of course, they are a ways off but the recent announcement their iPhone now holds a 46% share of the Japanese smartphone market is nothing short of a victory.
Of course, Engadget points to the fact that the Japanese smartphone market is still generally small because the range of phones offered over there is immense.
You know, you’ve seen those crazy phones Japanese manufacturers come up with? Yeah, those ones.

Acer Liquid A1 available in UK

The Acer Liquid A1 is now available in the UK market. The company’s first Android smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor with a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Triband (900/1900/2100) HSDPA, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and a 5-megapixel camera. FYI, Acer has decided to underclock it to 768MHz in order to prolong the 1,350mAh battery life span. The Acer Liquid A1 is currently in stock at retailers Expansys and Clove, priced at £339.99 ($556) and £328.99 ($538), respectively.
