Philips is pretty good about coming out with new products. They may have been absent from CES last year, but they will have a booth at CES 2010.

They have recently released the SA075 PMP in Beijing. It has 720p playback, and it has a screen with 800 x 480 resolution. Perhaps I’ll see it in Vegas in January. If so, I’ll have to let you know what I think.

PMPs (Portable Media Players) are usually quite expensive, especially ones that can handle HD. Don’t count iToos M6HD PMP, which, besides the funny name and bleak looks, sports a 4.3″ screen packing quite a few pixels, with a resolution of 1360×768. The device can play 720p movies and offers the same 720p as output as well. That’s the good news, the great news is that it’s priced at only $60. Yep, $60.

Cowon has introduced the V5 HD PMP in South Korea that is scheduled to go on sale on first day of 2010. Weighing 197grams, the player features a 4.8-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen display, Cowon’s Jet effects to enhance music and variety of multimedia codec support. In addition, the gadget also integrates a T-DMB, an RSS reader, a voice recorder, a calculator, a flash games, a notepad, a world clock, a digital frame mode, an e-dictionary and support for various mobile games from SKT. Its battery provides up to 10 hours of video playback or up to 45 hours of music playback. The Cowon V5 PMP will be available in three variants including a regular, a DMB and an e-dictionary models.

Newsmy’s A70HD portable media player is now available in China. Priced at $117.50, the gadget provides 768p compatibility, an 8GB of storage space, and a huge 7-inch 800 x 480 resolution display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The Newsmy A70HD supports a wide range of file formats including RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP4, VOB, MOV, 3GP, MPG, DAT, MP3, WMA, OGG, APE and FLAC. Additional features include HDMI and TV out to display your favorite videos on the bigger screen. [IMP3]

Teclast has unveiled their latest portable media player called C350. This gadget has a 3-inch LCD display with a 720p video support. The Teclast C350 is powered by a Rockchip RK2728B chipset that enables the PMP to support H.264, MKV, AVI, RM, RMVB, MP4, MOV, VOB, DAT, FLV, 3GP video files, as well as MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC audio files. Too bad, there is no info on pricing so far

My daughter is a huge Hello Kitty fan, so perhaps she is the target audience for iRiver’s new version of the Hello Kitty MP3 player.

Yes, it comes in black, and has a little bit of gold as well. It also comes in 2GB and 4GB storage options, as well as the earbuds, USB cable, and lanyard. At this point, it will have a Japan-only release that will cost about $90.

Ooh, shiny. This is the Haier “Theatre” – a portable media player with a 3-inch touchscreen, available in 4GB and 8GB capacities for $90 and $100, respectively.

In case you didn’t know, the gadget comes jam packed with a 2.7-inch touchscreen display, the mixing deck functionality and the DNSe 3.0 audio technology, Bluetooth support, an FM tuner, and a host of games. Weighing at a mere 50grams, the Samsung R1 is compatible with Xvid, DivX, H.264, MPEG-4, WMV and Real Media Video video files as well as AAC, FLAC, MP3, WMA and OGG audio files. Its Lithium polymer battery lasts for 30 hours in music mode or 5 hours in video mode. The 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB models are priced at £114.99, £179.59, and £195.69, respectively. 

All the way from Asia comes a new 3-in-1 device made by Yinlips and codenamed YDPG65, which combines 3 functions – camera + portable media player + gaming – in 1 device.

The Yinlips YDPG65 boasts a 3.5-inch screen with QVGA resolution. In terms of audio files, it can playback MP3, WMA, APE and FLAC lossless, and as for the video it supports MP4, RM, RMVB and also FLV – all at 30frames-per-second with 720p resolution. Other features in this multitask device include a slot for microSD memory cards, an eBook reader, FM radio, a 5-megapixel camera, and lastly, video out + being able to record videos.

In the games department, it supports NES and GB games among others.
