Gigabyte is by far not the most recognized brand when it comes to cellphones, in fact, it only makes a few smartphones for Asian countries only, all of which so far have been using Windows Mobile. Now, Gigabyte has introduced a version of its GSmart smartphone which runs on Android, a first for the company. The rest of the specs aren’t that interesting, a smallish 2.8″ screen and no 3G, but at least it only costs around $300 where it’s sold.

Designed for girls, the handset features a touchscreen display and an accelerometer allowing you to enjoy different games and application, as well as being able to completely manipulate its GUI via hand gestures and movements. Motorola has announced a new special cellphone named Quantigo. It is special because it is ruggedized, and also due to the material used on the outside which is rubber-coated with texture so it becomes easier to grip.
The clamshell type of phone has another special feature, which is being able to withstand a couple of different scenarios, be it 30-minute under water, or extreme pressures, or high/low temperatures, and even dust or blowing rain. The Motorola Quantico will become available later this year at Cricket Wireless, MetroPCs and other carriers. In terms of normal specs for a cellphone it includes GPS, bluetooth, and a 2.5mm headset jack.
