NEC’s New LED-Based Projector Shines Bright Through the Night

If you just love watching movies on your big projection screen, but yours just doesn’t shine bright enough for you, then have a look at this new LED-based projector from NEC Display Solutions. This one features a brightness of 2,000 Lumens and claims to be the world’s brightest LED-based projector. It is capable of displaying 98 percent of the color defined in the Adobe RGB standard which is more than 30% more than a regular projector. The bad news is that they don’t have any immediate plans to commercialize this, but the good news is that when they do the brightness will be kicked up to 3,000-4,000 Lumens. [TechOn]

NEC announced the new 70-inch MultiSync P701 LCD
NEC P701 features 1920×1080p Full
The P701 has a premium-grade panel with additional thermal protection, internal temperature sensors for the most demanding digital signage industry requirements and a sealed panel design, which provides protection against dust, grease and steam in less than optimal environments.
NEC P701 will be available in March 2010 for $11,799. There is also the P701-AVT model with built-in tuner.

NEC DLP Business Projectors

NEC will release in Japan four new DLP business projectors, which are part of the NEC ViewLight projector series. The NEC NP64J, NP63J, NP54J and NP53J provide a XGA resolution (1,024×768), a contrast ratio of 1,600:1 and rather weak 0.3W mono speakers. The NP53J and NP54J have 200W lamps that produce 2,600 lumens, while the NP63J and NP64J feature 220W lamps with 3,000 lumens brightness. What’s more, these DLP projectors also support JPEG, PNG, BMP and GIF file formats. NEC plans to start selling the ViewLight projectors in Japan on February 10th, 2010. NEC has rolled out two new professional installation projectors in the form of the NP2200 and NP1200. Designed specifically for large conference rooms or lecture halls, these projectors provide a native resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, 600:1 contrast ratio, 4200 ANSI lumens (NP2200), 3700 ANSI lumens (NP1200) and up to 3000 hours of lamp life (in ECO Mode). In addition, they also come with 5-watt stereo speakers and several connectivity ports including VGA, DVI-D, HDCP, 5-BNC, multiple audio in/out and RJ45 network control. NEC has proudly announced the world’s first smallest WiMAX router with wireless LAN support. Known as the Aterm WM3300R, the device measures at only 94mm x 67mm x 22mm and weights for 145grams. The WiMAX router comes with embedded Wireless LAN (BG), offering Multi SSID functions and basic Wireless LAN Security protocols like WEP and WPA(TKIP/AES). On top of the LaVie L that we mentioned today, NEC has presented yet another unit that goes into the notebook category, it is the LaVie M.
The technical specifications of the LaVie M aren’t too powerful, but there is one detail that is above the average – the battery life that can last up to 8 hours and a half – thanks to its “enhanced battery system”. In the inside of the LaVie M you can find an Intel Celeron SU2300 processor running at 1.2 GHz, a hard-drive of 320GB, and 4GB of RAM.
The 13-inch LaVie M will become available in 3 different colors, including red, white, and black.
