BenQ has entered the LED-backlit LCD TV market by releasing the 42-inch XT4242. Measuring 4cm thick, this LED-backlit LCD TV provides a Full HD resolution and a 120MHz video technology. The BenQ XT4242 also consumes less power than its competitor thanks to the LED-backlight technology. What’s more, the BenQ XT4242 provides four HDMI-in ports (two on the back and two on the side), a single USB port, one VGA port, audio in/SPDIF out ports and A/V connectors. It has a built-in ambient light sensor, which adjusts the screen’s brightness automatically according to the amount of ambient light in its surroundings. The BenQ XT4242 is priced at $1,355. NEC announced the new 70-inch MultiSync P701 LCD display for digital signage, joining the P401 and P461. The commercial-grade P701 is designed for the rigors of 24/7 applications such as airports, public information, healthcare..etc.

NEC P701 features 1920×1080p Full HD resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 420cd/m2 typical  brightness and 600cd/m2 maximum brightness. It includes the AmbiBright color enhancement technology, enhanced video wall capabilities and built-in expansion slot.

The P701 has a premium-grade panel with additional thermal protection, internal temperature sensors for the most demanding digital signage industry requirements and a sealed panel design, which provides protection against dust, grease and steam in less than optimal environments.

Hitachi has added two new LCD TVs to its Wooo series by announcing the 22-inch L22-HP05 and 26-inch L26-HP05. Both TVs support a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and feature 400 cd/m2 brightness, a 250GB of HDD for recording your favorite TV programs, two BS/110 degree CS digital TV tuners, DLNA support and 170 degree viewing angle. No to mention, they also come with two 10-Watt stereo speakers and a range of connectivity ports including 3 HDMI, S-Video, D4 and Ethernet. LG has proudly introduced the world’s thinnest LCD TV panel, which measures at only 2.6mm thick. Weighing at just 4Kg, this 42-inch LCD TV panel is 50% thinner than LG’s previous model and is capable of delivering Full HD content in 1080p (1920 x 1080). DX Antenna Japan is set to drop their latest LCD TV ‘LVW-193′ for the Japanese market. This new 19-inch TV supports a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 800:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time and provides 170 degree viewing angle.
