Canon announced its new EOS 7D Studio Version (7DSV) DSLR camera, ideal for professional school and event photographers which features four levels of “locking” camera controls for studio environments.

Based on original EOS 7D, this Studio Version has four different “lock” levels allowing administrators to enable the appropriate level of camera functionality for any studio operation. Alongside the new camera, Canon also introduce the Canon Barcode Solution for the new EOS 7D Studio Version which links customer data directly with the image file so that it can be maintained throughout the entire workflow process, ideal for school photographers, forensic and medical photo workflows.

The EOS 7D Studio Version Barcode kit includes Canon’s WFT-E5A unit, which along with an optional barcode reader can scan and seamlessly manage image and customer data through a wired connection. The kit is priced at $2599. The price is $1829 if you get the EOS 7DSV body only.[canon]

    Canon has officially announced the EOS Digital Rebel T2i entry-level all-in-one dSLR camera. As a successor to the Rebel T1i/500D, the new camera features a class-leading 18.0 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor and an increased light sensitivity for low light photography. The new T2i is also capable of recording up to 1080p 30fps videos. The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i is scheduled to be released to U.S. dealers in early March 2010, and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated retail price of $799.99. It will also be offered in a kit version with Canon’s EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens at an estimated retail price of $899.99
