Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i dSLR Camera

Canon has officially announced the EOS Digital Rebel T2i entry-level all-in-one dSLR camera. As a successor to the Rebel T1i/500D, the new camera features a class-leading 18.0 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor and an increased light sensitivity for low light photography. The new T2i is also capable of recording up to 1080p 30fps videos. The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i is scheduled to be released to U.S. dealers in early March 2010, and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated retail price of $799.99. It will also be offered in a kit version with Canon’s EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens at an estimated retail price of $899.99

Canon’s $1,900 EOS 7D DSLR just started shipping a month ago to pros and those who’d like to be, and already the thing is causing all sorts of fits when shooting continuously. In a service notice posted today on the outfit’s website, we’re told that images "captured by continuous shooting and under certain conditions [can exhibit] barely noticeable traces of the immediately preceding frame." The phenomenon isn’t apt to be noticeable with optimal exposure, but apparently a number of Photoshoppers have been irked by the additional (and unwelcome) elements added to their shots. Canon assures us that a firmware fix is on the way, and you can bet we’ll point you to a download link as soon as it hits.

Canon iPhone app can print wirelessly with PIXMA

Canon has updated their Easy-PhotoPrint software with an iPhone interface. This iPhone app allows the user to find wireless PIXMA printers, select paper sizes, print borderless photos, and even select from the photos of your iPhone or iPod touch. Right now, this service is limited to Canon’s MP990, MP640, and MP560 printers, and it is available now for free at the iTunes Store.
