The Blackberry Tour is a 3G phone with three megapixel camera, two hundred fifty six megs of onboard memory, enhanced media player, built in GPS, the exclusive BlackBerry Maps, organizer, web browser, a battery with five hours of talk time, a front trackball, a set of dedicated keys, and Bluetooth connectivity.

On a functional level, the Blackberry Tour works all right, even if that trackball is entirely too sensitive for its own good. It doesn’t offer a lot of fun, which is odd in a cell phone these days, but all right. There’s a lot to like about this, but only under specific circumstances.

That word comes from Chevrolet’s soon-to-be-retiring VP Brent Dewar, who unfortunately had little to say about the apps themselves, but did briefly flash the above slide during a presentation at the LA Auto Show last week. The apps will apparently let you control when the car charges, however, and even include integrated real-time features from OnStar, which should include things like electricity rates from utility companies by the time the Volt rolls out.

Last we heard, the Sprint BlackBerry Curve 8530 was rumored to launch on December 18th, but new information has landed in our inbox indicating that the handset will go live on January 10th of next year (2010). The Curve 8530 will feature the same specs as the 8520, but with the addition of WiFi and BlackBerry 5.0 OS.

According to our source, the Curve 8530 is already in Sprint’s device launch calendar, which specs out launches four weeks in advance. If true, we’ll have to wait until next year to put hands on the updated Curve from Sprint. We’ll probably have a better idea for the Sprint Curve 8530’s launch in the next couple weeks

The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 was, and still is, a lovely little phone, QUERTYfied, pocketable, and rocking that little milky trackball that gave it its name. There’s finally a true successor coming down the pipeline (the flippy 8230 not really counting) though it ditches the iconic pearl for a now-standard (and hopefully more reliable) touchpad. QWERTY is also out, replaced by a swoopy SureType keyboard, but the overall dimensions look very much the same, meaning this should fill the tiny BlackBerry void once again — whenever it ships
