Synology has rolled out a pair of powerful new NAS drives namely the Synology DS1010+ and DiskStation DS110j. The Synology DS1010+ is the enterprise-grade NAS that provides a five-bay expansion enclosure that can hold either 2.5- or 3.5-inch SATA drives. It is powered by an Intel Atom D510 processor, which is an overclocked variant of the popular N450 processor. The Synology DS1010+ can manage RAID levels 1, 2 or 6. It can be networked with Ethernet or USB ports. It’s also DNLA complaint and comes with its own management software – DiskStation Manager, which can run in Windows, Mac or Linux.

The DiskStation DS110j is the consumer model that is powered by an unnamed (likely ARM-based) 800MHz processor. The device has a single drive-bay for a 2.5- or 3.5-inch SATA drive. Samsung introduces two new point-and-shoot digital cameras, the waterproof AQ100 and the durable SL605, successor of the SL600. Both cams have 12 Megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom Samsung lens and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

The super slim AQ100 is just 0.78-inch thick and is waterproof up to 10 feet of water. It features 720p HD video recording, Photo Style Selector, and the Smart Filter function. The waterproof camera also has durable design getting metal Front Cover, dust-proof button-pad and anti-scratch mask. The SL605 also gets the the durable design.

Samsung’s two new cameras both sport the Smart Night mode, Smart Auto mode, Smart Album and the Perfect Portrait System that includes Face Detection, Smile Shot, Blink Detection..etc. The AQ100 and SL605 will be available in Spring for $199.99 and $129.99 respectively.

Other than the F/1.8 TL500, Samsung brings also the high-speed compact TL350 camera to the PMA 2010. The TL350 features a maximum video recording speed of 1,000 frames-per-second (fps) (in 138×78 resolution) and a burst mode capable of capturing 10 full-size digital stills per second.



The TL350 is equipped with a 10.2 Megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom Schneider KREUZNACH lens with 24mm wide angle and a 3-inch AMOLED VGA display. It record 1920×1080 Full HD video at 30fps. Samsung introduces two new pocket-sized Full HD digital camcorders, the HMX-U20 and HMX-U15. Both models are able to record 1920×1080p Full HD video in H.264 format and the former can capture 10 Megapixel still images while the latter captures 14 Megapixel stills.

Samsung’s U20 HMX-U20 has a 3x optical zoom lens the U15 has a 1x lens. They feature Hyper Digital Image Stabilization, 2-inch LCD display, HDMI output, one-touch upload to YouTube,  time lapse recording and SD/SDHC card slot. These ultra compact camcorder have seven-degree angled grip.

The HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 both come in Black, Silver, Blue and Red and are priced at $249.99 and $229.99 respectively.

Lenovo will release later this year its ThinkPad W701 and the dual-screen ThinkPad W701ds, which serves as the sucessor as the W700ds. Powered by Intel processor, the W701 and W701ds are getting up to 16GB of memory and up to NVIDIA Quadro graphics.

The ThinkPad W701ds  will have an extra 10.6-inch LED-backlight display. They both include Wacom Digitizer for pen control. No words yet on availability.

AT&T will release on 26 February the LG ARENA (GT950) touchscreen mobile phone. As one of LG’s flagship, the Arena features the company’s 3D S-Class UI and comes with a 3-inch touchscreen display and a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera.

The LG Arena supports GPS and geotagging as well as WiFi connectivity. It offers access to popular social networking sites and DVD-quality video recording. It supports also AT&T’s Mobile TV service and 7.2Mbps HSPA 3G technology.
